This is an edition of Q magazine, from last year. I have chosen this particular issue, because i am a big fan of lana del rey, and feel that this cover shows many features i can speak about. Q magazine is an indie magazine, however they feature larger artists also. The image of Lana del rey, is slightly contreversial, as she has blood coming from the top of her head, where her crown was. This says about the magazine, that they like being different, any other magazine with Lana del rey in it, is conservative, however this magazine likes to make a statement. The article anchored to the image of Lana, is "Everybody's mad for LANA DEL REY So what's so bloody good?" using the word bloody is relating to the image, by doing this it makes the reader want to know whats good about her.
The pink of the text and the white of her dress, makes her look innocent, and like a princess with the crown incorparated also.
For the kings of leon article, thhey have used alliteration in order to attract the audience, fights! feuds and feathers!
the other articles shown are "140 songs you must download now" this is almost a demand for the reader, and if they are interested in this feature they may end up doing as the magazine says and downloading these tracks. There is also a feature about the amazing upcomming festivals. Lastly i also like the selling line for the magazine, being "discover great music". This magazine is extremly popular, and its because the magazine is not affraid to think outside of the box.
