Here are my initial drafts for my front page and my contents page.
Here is my draft magazine front cover for Maverick. At this point I am just figuring out where everything should go on the page. I have decided that i want my main featured artist, should be in the centre, and as i have shown, the eyes are directly in the centre and are the first thing you look at when you see the magazine.
I have my main story in the largest text, and it slightly overlap the artists face, so that you can see there is a clear link between each of the elements. On the left hand side i have my main cover lines, these take up the left centre third of the page, and these will what the reader may see first in a newsagents or wherever the magazine is being sold. There is also a small image of another artist, because this way if the reader doesn't like the main artist, they may like the other artist.
I have added images of the other stories i may wish to feature.I like the idea of the vintage car factor because this can be good for both male and female readers, because i don't want it to just be aimed at women.
I have also added the factor of a twitter page to make the magazine look more current.
Also above is my contents page, i have followed a similar colour theme, so that my house style remains similar throughout. My contents page consists of a main picture (which the reader will look at first, and direct them to the main article) and then all the stories around this. I have named my contents page "inside this week" i really like this because it makes the reader know directly what it is about.
